Before attending USC he attended the University of New Mexico and earned his Bachelor’s in Film and Media History. During his time there he co-directed and edited It Doesn’t Have to Make Scene It’s SciFi which earned the Audience’s Choice Award at the UNM Movie Madness Film Festival. After graduating Martin helped a few colleagues form a film club called UNM Filmmaker’s Network where he served as an advisor for a year and helped the club find members which included students across all majors.

He also worked on a number of small Indie films including serving as a set PA for Numbskull Revolution which was directed by Jon Moritsugu where he took up 2nd AD duties, runner duties and also had the chance to understudy each department learning from people such Jennifer M. Gentile, and Anne Misawa before deciding to further his education and apply to USC’s film program.

His time at USC has been spent honing his skills and he has been fortunate enough to work on a number of short films that have earned the privilege of being screened at festivals such as Kindling which he Assistant Directed and was admitted to the Palm Springs Shortfest and Saving My Children which he served as the Cinematographer for and was admitted into the International Social Change Film Festival.

He has also had the chance to intern at Flame Ventures, a production company founded by Tony Krantz in the Spring of 2020 where he did script coverage, sat in on film development meetings and looked for possible adaptation ideas. After graduation Martin plans to continue to work with his colleagues and work his way up in the film industry.
